We pride ourselves as the door opening experts, not simply a construction material supplier. Himmel's is seeking a Construction Billing Specialist to join our team in Grapevine, TX.

The Construction Billing Specialist is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and processing accurate and timely billings for construction projects. This role works closely with project managers, accounting, and clients to ensure compliance with contract terms, proper cost allocation, and adherence to billing schedules.

Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit progress billings, AIA billings, and cost-plus invoices
• Review contracts to ensure billing aligns with agreed terms and conditions
• Track project costs, change orders, retainage, and billing schedules
• Reconcile billed amounts with project budgets and job cost reports
• Coordinate with project managers to resolve billing discrepancies
• Process lien waivers and support collections efforts as needed
• Maintain accurate billing records and documentation for audits
• Assist with month-end close related to construction revenue
• Communicate with clients regarding billing questions or issues

Qualifications

• 2+ years of construction billing or construction accounting experience
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Advanced Excel skills

Preferred Skills

• Experience with retainage and change order tracking
• Understanding of construction contracts and compliance requirements
• Proficiency in accounting or construction software (e.g., GCPay, Procore, Viewpoint, Textura)
• Strong knowledge of AIA billing formats and job cost accounting

• May require working under tight deadlines

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• 3 years Billing experience.
• 1-year accounting experience.
• Advanced proficiency with Excel software.
• Ability to effectively perform in an advanced, fast-paced environment individually and as part of a team.
• Needs to be self-motivated, have a strong work ethic, strong communication skills and a positive and helpful demeanor.
• Ability to routinely lift and move objects weighing up to 20 lbs.
• Must pass drug and alcohol screen and successfully complete random screens.
