Construction Billing Specialist

We pride ourselves as the door opening experts, not simply a construction material supplier. We are currently seeking a Construction Billing Specialist to join our Dallas, TX team!

The Construction Billing Specialist is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and processing accurate and timely billings for construction projects. This role works closely with Project Managers, Accounting, and clients to ensure compliance with contract terms, proper cost allocation, and adherence to billing schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit progress billings, AIA billings, and cost-plus invoices
  • Review contracts to ensure billing aligns with agreed terms and conditions
  • Track project costs, change orders, retainage, and billing schedules
  • Reconcile billed amounts with project budgets and job cost reports
  • Coordinate with project managers to resolve billing discrepancies
  • Process lien waivers and support collections efforts as needed
  • Maintain accurate billing records and documentation for audits
  • Assist with month-end close related to construction revenue
  • Communicate with clients regarding billing questions

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of construction billing or construction accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of AIA billing formats and job cost accounting
  • Proficiency in accounting or construction software (e.g., GCPay, Procore, Viewpoint, Textura)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Excellent communication andproblem-solving skills

PreferredSkills

  • Experience with retainage and change order tracking
  • Understanding of construction contracts and compliance requirements
  • Advanced Excel skills

WorkEnvironment

  • Office-based with collaboration across project and finance teams
  • May require working under tight deadlines, especially during month-end
