Dedicate our lives to inspiring our employees, our guests and the members of our community in their mission to fulfill their dreams. Himmel’s Architectural Doors and Hardware was founded on July 5th, 1983 by Max Himmel. Max would build cabinets, swings, and bread boxes in his backyard barn to sell on the side of the road and eventually upon request. Over the years, Max developed a reputation for delivering a quality product on time. Max was asked by existing customers to supply metal frames which led to the start of the Division 8 offerings at HImmel’s. The company has since grown into the leader of the Division 8 and Division 10 industries in the Gulf Coast Region with 5 locations from Houston, TX to Mobile, AL. Chad and Jay Himmel are now second generation owners leading Himmel’s continued focus on relationships and quality products while maintaining the service instilled over 35 years ago.
Core Values (We will recruit, hire, train, recognize, reward, promote and terminate based on our culture. We will install a series of cultural hinges to reinforce our culture so no one ever forgets who we are.)
Competency – We are architectural door opening experts, not a material supplier, and our success will be measured in that light. This is achieved through continuous training in the field and in the office on best practices, quality and building codes.
Character – Our team consists of members that will make the best decision by being an ambassador of the company inside and outside of the workplace. With the knowledge that customer service is a role for all and ethics come before profits, our team will make informed decisions for everyone. Our team members value relationships with all of our partners and will make decision in that light.
Charity – Himmel’s has a significant history of supporting charities locally and always being there for our team when they are in need. Himmel’s promotes the opportunity for our employees to become a pillar in society by volunteering their time. We commit 8 paid hours of time to each team member to donate their efforts to the charity that means the most to them. We will also donate a monetary value on behalf of the company to select charities yearly that all team members have a role in choosing.
Culture – A culture of teamwork and ethical based living inside and outside of work will be reinforced through cultural leaders within our company. Corporate gatherings and monthly updates on culture are a consistent structure to enable a positive work environment that everyone is entrenched in.
Chad Himmel has over 20 years of experience managing the company. Since joining Himmel’s, Chad has focused on enhancing our estimating, detailing, project management, and warehouse operations. Prior to his current position as Co-President, Chad was the Vice President of Division 8 at Himmel’s.
Jay Himmel has over 20 years of experience managing the company. Prior to his current position, Jay founded and was the Vice President of Division 10 & the Maintenance Division at Himmel’s. Jay has focused on expanding the products and services we offer based on what customers have requested.
Chris Peters has been the CFO of Himmel’s since 2015. Prior to joining Himmel’s, Chris has worked with numerous organizations, including Fortune 15 companies, as a management consultant assisting with improving operations and streamlining growth through solving organizational problems.
At Himmel’s we strive to provide customer service without compromise in Division 8 and Division 10. As a factory direct distributor of all the products we offer and State Fire Marshal.
